He counted on people being just that easily distracted.
What he hadn't counted on, was coming across the up to now elusive 'Riku of the Rodent Club'. What was even more surprising was the apparent unconscious state the man was in.
Axel stuck out a boot to nudge him. Hard.
"Oi. Oi!" Axel glanced around, albeit a little warily. If the thing that could actually take Riku down was still around here... "Don't tell me you got your @ss handed to you. Man oh man, that's pathetic."

It seemed like all he was doing lately was losing consciousness. Where was So---?
"Ow." This was nothing like the first time when he awoke with a kind girl over him. No... this was definitely different.
"Ass hole," he muttered before his eyes could even open. Who would kick a guy when he's down. Actually, when did he fall down? However when Riku's eyes cracked open, all his questions were answered ( ... )

Axel's eyebrows shot up in surprise before furrowing in apparent disgust at the heaving noises Riku was making. Holy darkness on a Creeper's plate, that was just revolting. Well, at least the guy hadn't thrown up all over his boots. He remembered the one time when they had Zexion into trying that exotic sa-ke drink. Talk about entertainment for the masses...
Axel blinked at the prone boy on the floor, staring up at him with a baleful expression. Was that...? Axel made motions to poke a gloved finger under Riku's eye, smack dab on his cheek. Yep. Just as he thought.
Straightening up, Axel crossed his arms, being careful to keep his expression neutral. "Heh. Obviously not."

This wasn't going to work. If only Axel would stop moving. And the buildings too....
He sat on the ground like a disoriented kid. Riku blinked oddly like he didn't quite understand the situation as he put a hand over his forehead. If only this fever was gone. Them maybe I could think clearly.
The riddiculing aura above him was not helping him in particular. It only made him feel lame.
But Riku was far past caring. "Help me up before I hurt you," he growled as he held up a hand. He was in no mood to mess around. But if he could lead him to that medic-nin...

Watching the other with a raised eyebrow, Axel waited to see just how long Riku thought he could last. Up close and with a less hindered view, Axel can already tell that the other was unnaturally sick. Heroes and their wannabes just didn't fall ill that way. It went against some kind of hero nature code thing.
Well, that's what he thought until that hand shot out in expectation. Axel crossed his arms, grin widening his lips into an amused expression. "And why should I? In the condition you're in, you can't even kick a dalmatian puppy's tail."

He was about to take Axel's hand regardless of his offer, but suddenly it jerked back and dug into the fabric of his own shirt. His hand shook like it had it's own mind and pulled at the fabric like it was burning.
Riku caught a glimpse of the skin on his chest before gagging.
The taste of blood came to his lips and his throat felt like it was peeling parts of itself. His trembling fingers finally got to the zipper of his shirt and ripped it down. Black spots covered his skin, like the grip of darkness trying to take his heart.
