There was something very wrong about this day, and Watanuki was jittery because of it. The floor creaks seemed louder today as he walked through the teahouse, and every shadow seemed to be more sinister. Even though he knew that Yuuko's wards would keep any malicious spirits at bay and that her kekkai here was stronger than the one she had set up for that time they exchanged ghost stories, the creepy feeling that something bad was going to happen soon still didn't go away ( ... )

The feeling that something was going to happen only grew stronger as Arashi continued to walk around the empty streets of the City. While it put her on guard, she went on. Just sitting around back at the temple wasn't going to bring her any closer to understand the situation she'd found herself in. Turning the corner, she paused. It seemed as if the streets weren't quite as empty as she'd first thought. Gazing at the teenaged boy, she weighed the pros and cons of avoiding him, before sighing and approaching him. Given his scrawny frame, and the fact that he didn't resemble any of the known Dragons of Earth in the slightest, he didn't seem to be a threat to her, though she kept her guard up.

Perhaps she could get some information about the CIty from him, though...

The City streets were ridiculously long and straight-ish, which was rather ironic for all the ways that this whole world was screwed up. Watanuki muttered under his breath, cursing every single little thing that had lead to this little unwanted adventure, from the literally bleeding computer in his room, to the hairline fracture that he found in one of the prettier teacups when he was sorting out the kitchen, and to the endless creaking of the old wood floorboards ( ... )
