There are lines at stores, but no worse than in the US. I think banking mainly just takes longer. When you go into a bank, you have to touch a button on a computer screen according to what you are there to do (I always touch "personal banking" and it spits out a piece of paper with a number on it. Then you sit down (there are lines of chairs) and wait until your number is called by the computerized voice over the loudspeaker. At least you get to sit down, but generally there is at least a 20 minute wait, or at least it's been like that any time I've gone in.
