Frustrations of being short

I just went through the trouble of getting a couple of new (to me) pairs of jeans hemmed for once, since it's so frustrating to always have my pants be too long for me. Being 5'2" is not conducive to finding pairs of jeans that fit, length-wise ( Read more... )

I totally get you. I'm 5'2" as well, but also FAT, which makes it even harder. :P
Usually I resort to capri pants for regular/tall people, pajama pants or spending a little more to buy from the actual petite section (this last one being the most rare in occurrence).
My dream would be to finally reach a weight where I could buy from the children's section, with their multitude of cute items and lower prices.

Did the person who hemmed your pants actually CUT the fabric and then hem it, or just take it up without cutting any off. If they did the latter, I think, there is a higher chance of the pants getting all wonky.

No, she cut it and hemmed it. The jeans just aren't used to ending right there, so they freaked out. :(

I feel your frustration: pants with the crotch down to the knees or cuffs a foot longer than my legs. Or blouses cut so low that they are obscene on me.

A tiny friend of mine used to buy her jeans from Shepler's western wear, because she could find jeans that fit her perfectly.

I don't even get it. I mean I suppose a lot of people are bigger nowadays than people used to be, but I know a ton of women who are my height or even shorter, and we all have to wear *something*! It's ridiculous.
