China

I am leaning more towards going to China now. I just talked with Oriana, the woman who interviewed me on Sunday. She said my housing would be comfortable and I would live by myself in a place that has all the basic furniture provided. I will have a work visa provided for me and they will deal with all the paperwork. I would be working mainly as ( Read more... )

Let me know what you decide. It's a great opportunity although I will not lie, I panicked a little and thought "Should I even apply to jobs in SF?" Of course, don't worry about me or anything, I just want to know. I know you said I wouldn't be homeless due to your list of friends... I'm just unsure of how we would manage it all if you weren't there to introduce us or...? lol yeah my brain can't wrap around things very easily still. I think it's still rejecting general thought since everything that happened last week.

None the less, good luck! on all fronts. Things will work out the way they are meant to, I'm sure, no matter what they may be and I'm sure you'll get this position in China and have a blast.

Yeah, I was offered the position on the phone today.

I understand your feelings of uncertainty/panic about maybe moving to SF if I'm not here... and I'll agree, it wouldn't be an ideal situation. I'm sure I could still at least get Rudy and Shannon to put you up for a bit, but it might be a little awkward without me there to introduce you. I get that you probably wouldn't be as comfortable with things that way, too... so it's your call if you want to keep looking for jobs in SF or not. You'll definitely be one of the first to know when I make the decision for sure. *hugs*

Thanks hun. And you're right... I don't have a problem (well, it's freaky and scary but like... I'm willing to do it?) with living with people I don't know. But it would be a lot less awkward if you were there so... I think if you weren't... I'd hold off on moving there unless I magically won a ton of money and could give myself my own housing the moment I entered the city. Good luck <3 *hugs back*

Cool!
If it were me I'd be packing my bags already. So awesome!!

I know it seems like a big stretch or something that might mess up your plan, but so many people never get an opportunity like this and it will SERIOUSLY be something you'll talk about for the rest of your life. Fred and I went to Venice for a week (---like six years ago now--) and we are always talking about how cool it was to have gone there.

I'd take the China job because memories and experiences last a lifetime. They are something that are priceless.

I think you should go for it! It's a great opportunity and a year isn't a huge amount of time in the long run (though I know it can feel like it sometimes).
