I'm contemplating having my journal be partially public and partially friends-only. I feel like there are so many things that just aren't that personal that I'm keeping as friends-only, when it's not really necessary... and when random people visit my journal, the most recent me they see is the me from a year and a half ago ( Read more... )

I like it. And I think posting it publicly would probably be a good idea :)

Yeah, I had mine friends-only partially because of an ex who used to read my journal... but I really don't think he looks at it anymore; it's been over two years since our breakup, and even if he did look, he'd only see my less personal entries anyway. We'll see.

Nice imagery! I have but one very nitpicky suggestion, and that's only because I'm so familiar with textiles. Chiffon is always thin, so calling it thin doesn't add anything to the image.

Yep, I know... I just wanted an extra word there to fit in with the rhythm, and I couldn't think of anything else to describe the chiffon... ^_~

"it would be gossamer chiffon" maybe? Does that fit your rhythm?

I've just been thinking of doing that as well...but I would want my layout to be like it used to be (I have to figure out how to do it all over again cos my old one won't work). That way I could link to the FO entry in a side box, all by itself so people wouldn't miss it. I don't want to have to backdate entries, so that'd be what I'd do. Then again, it's hard to foresee the future so...something could happen that might make me want nothing public. We'll see.
