I'm enjoying the heck out of this. I'm not a big animu/mango fan but Nausicaa is my favorite anime movie. I love the flying. The hippy tree hugging stuff is good too.

Pffft, Battle Royale and Hunger Games. HG is Battle Royale if BR actually had characters you care about and an interesting society. I guess HG could be considered the "Behind the Scenes" of BR. Ha, that amuses me.

hmm, maybe! i need to read the BR book to compare and contrast. it's 600+ pages long (granted I don't know font size or anything) and i've heard that it's much deeper than the movie. (shocking, i know.) i liked the dynamics of the school class with its assortment of nerds and losers and biatches and crushes.

Ha! In fairness, I'm just comparing the HG book to the BR movie, which is so far all I know of either. And I saw the movie at a slumber party, so full attention may not have been paid. I'm just irked at all the comparisons because they don't seem all that similar beyond the obvious "children made to fight to the death." What's memorable about the HG series is not the killing, which is ALL I remember about BR.
