But, on second thought, don't you guys think that the way the were that morning sorta guaranteed that they were to go back to it, and with a very romantic twist to it later *if* Spike hadn't gone the deep end with Anya (because he couldn't deal with the pain an incertainty)? He should have been simply patient. Sigh. It would have been so beatiful one day soon....
Oh, it was apparent that she missed him pretty badly in NORMAL AGAIN (She nearly jumped out of her skin when he said "Did you cry") but I think she realized without soul, that it couldn't work. Spike tried as best he could, but it was never going to be enough--until he got his soul.
I don't see him leaving someone because they are old and wrinkly, at all. Maybe I'm over romanticizing, but Spike is all about love and I think that he would care.
