As long as theyre not ukranian theyre probably fine. It...well not upsets me, its more a sense of powerlessness but kids i was at university with lots were from the middle east and i wonder sometimes if theyre alive or which sides theyre on, i mean the last couple of years have not been kind to middle easterners in their 20s. One was the son of some syrian general and i wonder if hes killed people sometimes. Their lives have not been like mine and now what do we do?....like theyre so far away in a parrell universe in such a sort space of time and just so separate from me now. I just think sadly sometimes our lives are on different paths, like we forget sometimes now with the multiculturalism and the internet but we are trapped on different fates where theres nothing I can do but accept we have different fates. The sheer level of powerlessness is weird though.

Some humans cannot live without saying something about Putin. Can I ask you a question? What do you know about Russia? I mean something else besides those facts (very often incorrect)you can read in the Internet? Have you ever been to Russia? Have you ever spoken to Russians? To real Russians, of course. Are you sure that you country is an idyllic place? And the population in your country consists of angels only? Regarding Luda Savchuk. I don't know her and I cannot say she' right. Do YOU know her so well to shout "Bravo!" to her? You really judge reading this article and looking at her photo? Anyway, you can trust anybody you like. Your problem, of course. I will say "Bravo, Russian President Putin!" Because he is trying not to allow the 3-rd WW to begin. It's a pity that you can hear just one side and don't try to hear the other.

lol, yes of course we've all spoken to real Russians, in real life. Although I will say that living in London all the Russians I know are the following 1. really, really REALLY wealthy children of the Russian elite or 2. dissidents of Putin that have fled Russia. Which may be why Putin has an image problem because while we have French tax-exiles or Spanish economic migrants the only vaguely modern country we have a large number of political refugees from is Russia

Yes, I have spoken to Russians and I have many Russian friends. I have visited Russia and I try to be aware of situations that take place within the country, both side of it, in fact. I am not passing judgment on your country, although you seem eager to try to force my hand.
I passed this article along because it mentioned Live Journal and this is Life Journal.
Never once did I condemn Putin or insult your country. I merely expressed concern for a person who spoke up, just as I would in many other countries. Not every country respects an individual's right to speak freely.

(Lj's staff are probably gratified to be told they're popular, though some members not that pleased to be told it's Russian.)
