“This is surreal.” Napoleon frowned and took a pace back, sleeve brushing against a swaying pattern of fibers. His left arm was immediately entangled in sticky silken strands.
His partner’s expression turned ice cold. “I could fire a round or two,” Illya pointed toward the ceiling with his walther, “but bullets might drop this … mess onto our heads.”
“Don’t create a worse problem. We’ll have to wait patiently until Angelique comes along to explain why she, ah, invited us into her parlor.”
“It had better be important. I am unamused at being caught in one of that unscrupulous spider’s webs.”

Thanks! Nothing is too good for his partner.

I can picture the look on Illya's face as he says the last line. Chilling.

Clever; very clever. I certainly wasn't expecting that twist. Good old Steel. Very good indeed.
We went with the same fandom this week *g*

Silver watched Steel pace. His expression was, for Steel, unusual.
Steel turned to Silver. "Something is wrong. However, I do not know what."
Silver was surprised; shocked even, by Steel's words. "How do you know something is wrong?"
"Because the fire itself wasn't important. It was set to create an illusion that it mattered. But it doesn't. It can't."
It all sounded rather surreal to Silver. But he trusted Steel. He would wait.
Steel closed his eyes and put his hands on the wall. //There was no fire. It was the illusion. Now I know what I have to do.//
