Napoleon heard a faint rattle before coffee and two aspirin appeared on his desktop.
“A scintillating date?” Illya asked wryly.
“Not exactly. She was unusually thorough in investigating my cover identity as an illustrious import-export manager.”
“And she found your credentials lacking?”
“She thought I was a low-life out to, ah, defile innocent girls … so her four brothers, the linebackers, showed up at the restaurant to explain why I’m not an acceptable companion for their baby sister.
“They didn’t join you for caviar and crackers, I presume.”
“They chased me for miles. I spent half the night slinking through alleys.”
Oh, we all went in different directions this week! Fun!
Here is mine. Acceptable
“In all its illustrious history, this must be a new low for Thrush,” Illya Kuryakin opined. “How did they distract you?” “There was this new nanny named Lola...” “That name should have tipped you off. Was she pretty?” The Russian smirked. “Scintillating,” Solo sighed. The memories would sustain him for a while. The agents turned their attention back to the cooing baby. “I’ll get Melvin’s attention with another animal cracker…” “And I’ll snatch the exploding rattle,” Solo grumbled. “It would be far from acceptable for Mr. Waverly to be assassinated by his grandson’s toy!”

Poor Napoleon. I can see the look on Illya's face so very easily.
Well done.

I know what you mean. I needed more words, too, this time around.
I think you did a great job with the 100, though.

"Got the crackers, sunshine," Bodie ruffled Ray's white curls.
"Dunno if they're acceptable today." Ray gazed up at Bodie.
Bodie tried to ignore the low rattle in Ray's chest. "Which of our illustrious leaders came up with that?"
Ray shrugged. "Dunno, love. It's just the way it is today. Ban this; ban that; rewrite that bit of history; oh, and those bits."
Bodie poured himself a whisky and slumped down next to Ray. "Gonna be a real scintillating Christmas."
"Still could be. Tell 'em I'm not well enough. It'll be just you and me."
Bodie took Ray's hand. "Sounds perfect."
