I've never been to the Gold Coast but I have been to the Sunshine Coast, back in my 20s, and I remember how beautiful it was/is. We also went to Buderim and sampled the ginger - yum!

Wow! Ginger everything in that shop! I am not a fan but Manolo is so he'd love it.

The surf really is quite rough...but the beaches look so lovely and not very crowded!

It was rough than I trusted. Even back in my heydays, it would have been tough.
