I knew you were sensible people who think ahead. Of course you need something warm to wear underground, especially on a hot day, but there's always some who don't believe it.

Well, we've been in underground caverns before and I knew from experience that they could be chilly. Figured it would be better to have it and not use it than want it and not have it.

You see, I told you you'd get the hang of the narrow windy roads.

Curry and chips - you're turning into a local! :D

The slate mine sounds like a wonderful idea in this weather. Maybe they'd let me sit down there all day? I'm trying to work but this heat is too draining.

the teen accompanying them did not look happy
To be fair, this is fairly normal behaviour for a teenager. Besides, teens only have one facial expression that covers every emotion from ecstatic to suicidal.

yeah was going to say, being dragged miserably on walks as a teenager sounds an accurate description of most days-out I experienced. No wi-fi, no phone, no music just miles of coastal path. The promise of a pub "just around his next headland" is always a lie.

Nothing compared to the ones we encountered today and we did just fine on them. The Big Guy is getting really good at negotiating those single lanes roads.

I love curry. I love chips. Having them together made sense to me!

We were! Double cream vanilla - yum!

That is a very cool story about your great granddad. Well, not that he nearly died, but in that he survived. It was a terrible job. I can't believe what some people went through for us.

The tide plain walk does sound lovely, glad the wind didn't catch you. Hope you enjoy the Snowdens.

Sadly, there's not much any wind here at all. We could do with a bit at the moment.
