Frank Thornton - the actor who played Captain Peacock on "Are You Being Served" passed away on Saturday. He was one of my favorite characters on AYBS? and the news of his passing makes me very sad. I think he was the last of the regulars on the show... truly the passing of an era.

I had no idea it had got as far as you chaps! Ah, the subtle innuendos of the inner leg measurement and mrs Slocum's pussy! Did you also get 'allo, allo'? Another great show of the era. It's strange, we were only talking about AYBS this weekend.

"Allo, Allo" was funny the first season, but it got to be the same joke over and over again. WE have the first two season, but I grew bored with it after that.

We have the entire AYBS series as well as the follow up (Grace and Favors). Heck, we even did the play here! I adored the show.

How interesting! I had a Saturday job in a shop like that when I was a teenager. I kid you not.

I think that's what made it so successful. So many people saw themselves or their coworkers in the chracter of AYBS!
