Just checking in

Oct 20, 2017 04:32

I can hear the rain outside. We aren't supposed to get a lot, but even sprinkles are welcomed at this time of the year. They were reporting from 2 to 4 inches up on the passes, which is another step in the right direction. The day is going to be cold and gloomy, just the sort of day to curl up in front of the fire with a book and some cats. So ( Read more... )

Glad that you're settling back into "home" mode from being on vacation :-) Also really glad that Araceli is working out :-)

Yes, it seemed to take a bit longer this time. Must be my age. I'm thrilled to bits how things are going at work. :D

Sounds like work is in that stage of "not being too bad". Sometimes that's all you can ask. And being busy really does make the days go by. I'm glad for you.

I know just what you mean about listening to the rain. Isn't it just the best? We've had a little rain the last couple of days. It's been much appreciated.

My week has been kind of a struggle. I'm trying to transition Shadow from dry food to wet food and it's not going well.

Work is much better and I can only hope it continues along like this for a good long time. Araceli has been there longer than any of us, so she has the investment of time and now she's finally making a decent salary. And she was so afraid that they were going to cut her hours. :D

I wish that it had rained more, but as you say, it was appreciated greatly.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not having the best of weeks. I wish I could help.

I'm glad that you're back to a good rhythm at work - with Araceli taking over Sceona's work competently. As far as purchasing tickets, I love the online method, and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. And, I'm 67.

I wish you could have had some cat time with a book, listening to rain on the roof with a fire in the fireplace, but - hopefully another time. You don't get enough of that, imo! There is something cozy about a nice soft, steady rain.

I watched that video of the flipper dance. Yeah ... they are surely going to need to practice in them!! LOL. Just THINKING about dancing in flippers makes me trip over my feet and fall down! LOL!

Good for you. I wish more of our older patrons were more comfortable with the computer, not just for ticket sales, but for other reasons, too. Old doesn't mean incapable - I didn't mean that - sorry.

A nice steady rain would be lovely, but it's moved on now. It's cool and it might be time to kick off wood burning season tonight. I'm ready! :D

I can barely walk in them, I can't even imagine dancing.

Personally I think my age (67) is about "the line" where those older than me are less tech savvy and younger are more. We got our first computer in 1988 -- and our second (our first Windows computer) in 1994, and that's when I went online for the first time, so it's been a number of years. I was a CompuServe user in those beginning years, but by 1998 / 2000 I was solidly on the web. (In 2001 I started my journal here.) So - basically I learned computer skills in my late 30s through my 40s ( ... )

I know what you mean about change. In the theatre, it's all about change all the time and that's good, but there are some things that I do avoid changing as much as possible.

I didn't really get into computers until I hit Delta in the 90's, but TBG worked with them for as long as I've known him, so he's my go-to tech support guy. it's nice having someone in house.

Mmm, a cold, grey, rainy day... We have been having bright sunny skies, it has been a very warm and dry October thus far!

This has been our only one so far this month. it's doesn't bode well for our rain fall this season.

Seeing old friends again is always nice. I'm glad things are going well at work, and you're back in sync with life at home. I hope you do get the opportunity to curl up with a book and the cats sometime this weekend.
