YES the Weevils! I thought they sounded familiar.

Nice Buffy floats along the Nile attitude. Very in character voices throughout.

One of my favorite movies too with Somewhere In Time...yes its mushy but nice yummy mush.

Love any Spike and Joyce friendship in a fic.

Covered the requirements wonderfully.

Hee! I couldn't resist the lure of the Weevils! I was attempting to design a Buffy-type demon/monster that Spike would know about and that hadn't been used on the show, but I got hooked on Doctor Who and then rewatched Torchwood, and the Weevils just sort of crept into this story.

Thanks so much for the compliment about character voice! I try very hard to keep the characters, er, in character! *g*

I've always loved Somewhere in Time - I've been fascinated with time travel since I was a kid, and I loved the way they utilized it in that movie. And Jane Seymour has always been a favorite of mine (and who doesn't love Christopher Reeve?)

I loved the Spike & Joyce friendship almost as much as I loved the Spike & Dawn friendship, so I was thrilled to be able to include a bit of it.

Thanks again for reading and commenting!

Hee! Buffy talking to herself about Spike and Riley was perfect - and hilarious. With extra snarkage, hot cocoa, Joyce and aliens for good measure. Great fun.

Oh, thank you, sweetie! I love writing Spike and Buffy snark, and usually it's a breeze for me, but those two hospitalizations between the assignment and completion of this fic made me a tad depressed and I hoped I'd still be able to bring the fun. Thanks so much for the reassurance that it worked.

Yummy. Really yummy.

Angelus suggested we should go to Cardiff, 'cause they had those creatures there, too, an' since they were already killin' an' eating people, no one would even notice us. . . .

And if that isn't screaming out for a Fanged Four/Victorian Torchwood crossover, I don't know what is! The minute he mentioned Cardiff my antennae started twitching!

Lovely work - beautiful voices and just the right level of avoidy subtext.

OMG! Yes! It certainly is! (And wouldn't I just love to see Angelus get his hands on one of those Victorian TW bitches that tortured Captain Jack! *eg*)

I was originally planning to invent a monster for Buffy and Spike to fight, but I got so caught up in Doctor Who this spring (honestly, I hadn't been this excited about a finale since NFA), and then I started rewatching TW, and the Weevils just sort of crept into this story. Hee!

Thanks so much, and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it!

Thank you, darlin'! And thanks especially for the DVD/VCR research - I'd been so concerned about being able to bring the snark, that I completely forgot about the research I generally do. Thanks for not allowing me to embarrass myself!

Nice story that's a sort of crossover *g*

Love anything that lets Joyce have a part in it.

Thanks! I didn't want to make it an actual crossover, because the request wasn't for a crossover, but I figured if the MoW just showed up, without being named, it would work. *g*

I loved the Spike and Joyce friendship, and especially the scene where Spike brought her a bouquet of daisies for the funeral. *sniff sniff* That scene got to me just as much as the entire Body episode. *sigh*
