This is just... neat. The window lowered further. Hold on! He knew that dirty, stinking pervert! Bwah!
And, what the hell is a ‘luthier’, by the way? Is that like some religious order? ‘Cause I’m starting to think that might not be such a bad idea about now, and I’ve certainly been abjuring enough.”
“You’re thinking of ‘Lutheran”, and I don’t think they have religious orders in the way you’re using the term. They are, of course, a protestant denomination, but they do have ministers, who receive theological training, but-”
“Giles! I have no interest in becoming a minister of any kind. Zero. Zip. Nada. Move on.”
“Oh . . . erm . . . quite. A luthier is someone who builds musical instruments, such as violins, guitars, mandolins, and, well . . . lutes, also, I suppose. Never mind.
Double bwah! That's such a Buffy/Giles conversation.
joined in the Christmas celebrations with gladness and contrition in his heart. He decided not to push it, however, and slipped out when the parishioners stood to make their way to the altar for the Eucharist. ( ... )

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! Now that I finally have a computer of my own, I'm trying to catch up on all the comments I missed answering when I was borrowing laptops by the hour! *g*

I love Buffy/Giles conversations. Even though they've both grown and changed, somethings never change. Hee!

That is really good stuff. Darla is wonderful as the 'I don't want to be here can we just hurry up' Ghost of Christmas Past especially, although Tara and Joyce are just right for their roles too.

Oh, thank you! I wanted to stick with "ghosts" who had appeared on BtVS, and Darla just seemed to fit perfectly as the Ghost of Christmas Past, who so wasn't thrilled with the role she was assigned to play. *g* And Tara and Joyce are both nurturing people, who didn't have an excessive dislike of Spike, so I thought they would be appropriate for their roles, too. And Dru just had to be Spike's Jacob Marley. Hee!

Such a lovely story - perfect for the season, perfect for the characters.

I love your fics, have I told you that lately?

As it is, Angel became the standard against whom she measured everyone else. And it wasn’t even Angel, the person, but rather an idealized version of Angel, all wrapped up in the nostalgia of first love.” True, so true. (channeling Booth, here.)

Little typo here: With all the extraneous slayers around these days, there was one for each of the Burroughs and two for Manhattan, which pretty much left him nothing to do. It's "borough", not "Burrough". :-)

Thanks for catching the typo! I was frantically trying to get this typed in time on a borrowed laptop, and since I capitalized "Boroughs", spell check must have thought I meant William Burroughs and changed it on me! Fixed now.

I'm finally back home, with my new computer (although, it will take me awhile to become comfortable with Windows Vista, since I am used to XP), but I'm trying to catch up with comments that I couldn't answer while in borrowing-laptops-for-an-hour-here-and-there mode. It's good to be back, with my shiny new 'puter!
