Well.

That was absolutely fantastic for a first fanfic. The way you switched between England's perspective and America's gave a very nice effect, for me at very least. Although the first few paragraphs were a tiny bit confusing, because the characters weren't fully established yet, the rest of it flowed along very well.

I also really enjoyed how you actually had England entertaining the possibility of being killed by humans, and the problems of their immortality, with the different names and places and whatnot. It's not mentioned too much in fics in general, but I thought it was a very realistic take on something which is usually overlooked.

And you mentioned the Native Americans! Interesting indeed, we see too little of them around here...

So on the whole, I enjoyed this piece so much. Hope you write more! :D

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I apologize for the initial confusion, but I tried to keep in as many character traits as possible without resorting to calling them by name.

I also learned quickly that I was running out of insulting things to call Francis. Arthur would be ashamed of me on multiple counts.

Wait, "again"? Meaning I've made you happy before this?

Not that I'm complaining or anything. I might rival Alfred in awesomeness if I can make people happy without knowing it. And who wouldn't want to be as awesome as Alfred? Does this mean I can get a hot, tsundere Brit to think that I'm the most best thing since the invention of scones and snog me senseless?

I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D

Wow, that was beautiful. I really liked the way you got into America's life before he contacted the settlers, and his interaction with the Indians. Those things are rarely gotten into. Also, good job on your research; you obviously worked quite a bit on it (and I don't mind it being different from canon, as long as you acknowledge it).

Oh my. Thank you. I'm actually a fan of your work. I had read the published portions of Alone in a Crowd before I decided to delurk.

As for the research itself, I have to admit most of the research was looking up specific names and links on Wikipedia. I winged the rest of it from what I remembered from AP European History and AP US History exams. Hetalia does a pretty good job of dusting off those memories, if I do say so myself. Hence why I am always laughing uproariously at the characters. Especially England, France, and America. Because it's SO true.

I have a fan? I'm honored to hear that, really.

Well, perhaps what I really meant is that you seemed to know what you were talking about. Hetalia is good at bringing back random memories of history, but you do need to have them in the first place for that to work. Hetalia wouldn't be half as funny if it weren't true, you know.

Oh my, that was amazing. I loved how England became such a strong part of America's life without the two even speaking. Its such a powerful and difficult thing to pull off, and you did it wonderfully. This was a great read, full of fun hetalia interactions without sacrificing the history surrounding it. Thank you so much for a wonderful read!!
