Why I like Supernatural

This post has been kicking around in my head for quite awhile. See, I really love Supernatural. It’s far from my favorite show, or what I consider to be a quality piece of work, or a deep, multifaceted show, but it’s consistently mediocre and hits a lot of the buttons that need to be hit in order to keep me coming back for more. Yeah, ( Read more... )

DAMN you're right don't know how I missed it before! I think Anna may have been that red, so it's probably her.

It's Anna & Castiel, and her hair was def. that red (at least on my monitor). Additionally the photoshop coloring kinda skews colors.

"The French Mistake" doesn't make it on the list of fun meta? :( It surely didn't hurt that that episode came on a weekend when I needed a good laugh desparately, but I adored it. Though I won't disagree about the others.

I suddenly wish I knew more about Jim Beaver.

"The French Mistake" makes it, but the two I listed are my all-time favorites. I was too lazy to list every episode I liked is all!

Also, you should read Jim Beaver's twitter. He is the bestest.

Sam is, honestly, one of my favorite character types, i.e. the person who wants to be moral, but can’t afford to be. The utilitarian one. The decent person forced into a position of being ruthless or cruel

This is one of my favorite character tropes, too. (When the ruthlessness takes the form of the kind of manipulative scheming that the character can only pull off as well as they do because they have a high degree of empathy for the people they're using, my love is all but guaranteed.)

And I agree with you 100% on the joy that is Jim Beaver.

I think we have a lot of overlap when it comes to character types. 8)

AND YES JIM BEAVER. HE IS THE GREATEST.

And I will watch more Deadwood it just honestly makes me depressed and sleepy. Or sleepy because it makes me depressed. IDKKKKK.
