where the fatties roam

Jan 04, 2010 10:00

Normally I wouldn't find this post-worthy but a certain quote in the article really stuck out to me. To wit:

"Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded."
I'm not even offended. More amused that anyone who considers oneself a business person can use the ( Read more... )

Wow, that's pretty special. You're right, it's hard to take them seriously at all when they use terms like "fattie". Gotta wonder if somebody in the PR department was fired for this, though.

Mm-mm food. So how does your mom use the excuse of working the nightshift for killing people? "I'm tired from working the nightshift, so nearly running him off the road is excused"? That kind of thing, or more "I work the nightshift I AM THE BATMAN NIGHT!!"? Because I would love to see your mom as a nightshift superhero.

Oh tir-ri, how I love you. &hearts

Also, Erin's comment about batman made me think of that awful book I told you about years ago that we listened to on our way to Florida. "I am an owl. I live in a tree. Nighttime is my time." Just a random thought that popped into my mind...

Also, I want to see you sometime! I know you are leaving for your internship, but if I could grab lunch with you sometimeee? Maybe?

People are awesome.

I mean that unsarcastically in regards to you! I am excited about the gay space regency thing! And I'd like to know more! Also that artist fills me with happiness and jealousy, which only means her work is wonderful.

I have decided that they are named Shelley and Byron. This is fact and you cannot change it. Shelley is the regent. He is neurotic and often forgets to changed out of his white, flouncy pyjamas. Byron runs the spy network. And by "runs" I mean sits around and makes his second-and-command do everything, unless it involves seducing someone. Then he is all ears.

Characters have never come together so easily for me before. I am proud of myself.

But does gay space Byron have a menagerie of space peacocks? Because I feel those are very important for maintaining historical accuracy.

I don't know why, but I'm nearly cracking up over the BeautifulPeople thing. The quote, and the whole thing in general. It's like Mensa for pretty people! (I wonder if they care if it's real or not?)

She does not yet seem to grasp that "well, I work the nightshift" is not an excuse for manslaughter. It makes quality time with her all the more fun.
Family - gotta love 'em.
