Haven't you found that the systems for planning always fail?

I've been kinda crap about pretty much everything lately, and I apologize for that. It seems that I have extraordinarily bad health, for no real discernible reason. At any rate, if it seems I've been ignoring you I apologize for that. I will remedy that ( Read more... )

I'M TAKING A PHILOSOPHY CLASS NEXT SEMESTER, KENDRA!!!!!

I feel like this is an appropriate entry to tell you... I hear the professor is really attractive, too, so if I end up being terrible which is inevitable I can at least admire the handsome cut of his jacket... or something.

I hope break gives you a chance to catch up and that you start feeling better! I'm playing a bit of catch up myself... mainly because I don't have a Winter Term project... or a research paper...

I will always associate Immanuel Kant with "cunt" because of the way Eugene Weber says it in his video. And Camus with cows.

Maybe I shouldn't be in a philosophy class, ha ha. XD

Sounds awesome! I did see your entry on the winter term thing. Can you explain what that is so I can actually supply some useful feedback?

Also, philosophy is at the very least a good thing to know. If you need help with anything I'd be happy to explain. Though if it's just an intro class you'll probably not hear anything about Camus, considering some people don't even count him as a philosopher.

I just remember their names from AP Euro... I know absolutely nothing about philosophy outside of that. Ha ha.

Winter Term is just something we have to do from Jan 2 to Jan 27... we can do anything we want as long as it has some sort of educational/personal/whatever value. Like, Rebekkah is learning how to spin yarn from wool and sewing a Regency-style dress... she's visiting garment museums and stuff... For it to be full credit, you have to have roughly six hours a day, for five days a week. Half credit is three hours, I believe. We have to have three full Winter Term projects completed in order to graduate...

Well at least you know you'll have a good spread; I have to admit, I do still have mixed feelings on the musical side, but since that isn't changing any time soon...Although regarding your philosophy classes, especially the morality one, I will be extraordinarily interested in seeing what other people's opinions are and how that comes out in class (screaming fights? maaaaybe).

Hopefully Thanksgiving will go okay. *hugs* &hearts

Yay tomorrow! And yeah, Thanksgiving's original intent has been twisted a lot, though probably no more than any other holiday. I still fail to see how rabbits and eggs equate Jesus's rise from the dead, but that's just me.

We covered the Romantic period in Art History the other day, and the Romantics sounded like a rowdy bunch of "die for your art" guys. So I think covering those poets will be really interesting, considering you're covering the history aspect as well. Sounds cool!

Morality one might be interesting, but also probably a tricky subject. Logic is all well and good, but you can't forget the power of human emotions and feelings in those big topics. Still, sounds neat! Great fodder for debates.

The last...sounds rough to me. Don't you dislike Descartes? Good luck with that, at any rate!

Your morality class sounds like it's made of rainbows and glitterandos kittens. I mean, any ethics class always has a high potential for... awkward inter-student dynamics, but even if that turns out to be the case, the material should still be interesting enough to make up for it. Would you mind if I look at your notes for it next semester? (I can trade you my Music and Sexuality notes if you'd like.)

Here's hoping for a lack of asshat professors this time around.
