I'm not a huge fan of Rain, but as you said, Rain will have to deal with the rest of the world that might not enjoy his talents and looks.
Everyone is free to do as they wish and well, if Rain wants to survive, he'll have to learn how to suck it up and just deal.

as for Colbert and Rain, it’s just the beginning of an interesting comic relief rivalry
It will publicize both side to wide extend. Colbert in Korea/Asia, Rain in US.
Poll results? Hahaha! As long as it's not voted with persons SSN confirmation, the result accuracy is always under big question.

I was laughing my ass off when I read about the Thais and the Koreans battling it out for the poll's lead. (Thais voting King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Koreans for Rain). The bit where both sides were giving low ratings to the other's bet was really funny. I can't stop laughing!
