Fic rec for people who don't read fic

There are some fics I go back to again and again, because they are just that good. Today I've decided to rec one (and its sequel) for hlinspjalda and others like her who like to read fic in fandoms they don't know, as long as the stories are really good. Have I mentioned that this story is really, really good?
