48 Thinkies About "Journey's End"

It's finally here!  Are you as psyched for this ep as I am?  When it comes to pre-episode thinky thoughts, I think I've already said everything important in the last few weeks, including SQUEE! OMG!  NOOOOOOO! and YESSSSS!  As for disclaimers, if you don't already know by now, it's too late.

Let's just get to it! )

Okay, so you should read mine, because halfway through the ep, you and I start sharing a brain. :)

Yeah. Sorta my feelings too. HATE the Donna reset, really not sure about the Rose ending either (and why let Mickey stay on this side and take Jackie, Rose and BlueSuitTen over to the parallel world?).

Overall, I think RTD is good at single parts, not so good at two-parters. Bring on teh Moff.

*Spider throws hands up in dismay* I'm not even trying to make sense of it.

Thanks for reading and commenting, though. :)

why let Mickey stay on this side and take Jackie, Rose and BlueSuitTen over to the parallel world?).

Jackie has a husband and son in the parallel world so she'd be going back anyway. If Rose stayed in this world, she'd only want to come with the Doctor again, and after what Davros said about the Doctor turning people into weapons, my guess is that he wanted to keep Rose safe. Plus, she's lived in the parallel world for at least 2 years (more maybe since they move faster than us), so maybe he figured that she'd actually have made a life for herself there. (instead of pining away for him). Doctor 10a was really a consolation prize for her.

Personally I don't care why he did it, just so long as this time it takes because I really don't want Rose back again ever.
I'm still pissed that she gets her home and family and a new boyfriend, and Donna gets...nothing. Words cannot express how furious I am that the best Companion the Doctor has ever had (IMO), or rather, the one that was best for him gets reset back to the person she was ( ... )

It was quite clear who the favorite creation/companion was in this episode. I loved Martha and Donna, Rose shouldn't have come back at all much less get the "happy" ending while Donna lost all her growth.

Word on Donna, as you already know. :(

The good thing about Mickey and Martha being on Torchwood is that I'll still be watching it now, even without Owen and Tosh. But. Still. Sigh.

Ooh, I didn't get that Mickey was going to Torchwood. That'll be cool. I was hoping for PC Andy. Maybe we'll get both!

Anything that makes you watch Torchwood is fine with me! HUGS.

Yeah, that was my interpretation of the Mickey and Martha heading off with Jack bit. Which I would be okay with since I love them both....

I don't know what it is, but I've liked Martha less since she was on Torchwood. (then again, much of my original liking of her was on the grounds that she wasn't Rose)
I'm looking forward to seeing Mickey on TW - so long as TPTB don't have him falling for Gwen like most of the other male characters - but I'm less enthused about Martha.
(actually I think one of the problems I had with Martha on TW was the 'I'm UNIT and outrank you' attitude she seemed to have going on)

I'm happy because we got Soldier!Doctor for a little while. Mickey and Martha for Torchwood? Martha would be good. Mickey wouldn't. Torchwood needs a tech genius.

Mickey is a tech genius, or at the very least a computer expert. On top of that, he's been working for the parallel world's version of Torchwood for a few years now.

His growth as a character is one of the main reasons he was my fave char in s1 and s2

You've pretty much summed up ALL of my feelings on the episode, but I can't post because my friends all loved it to death and would get very angry if I said anything dissenting.

What little of the German I could understand was (in the case of the Daleks) literally translated. The woman at the castle said something about Martha needing to be quiet, but I didn't understand much after that. My German has deteriorated.

My German friend says the lady said "You're the monster, not them." And Martha said "Then you'd better kill me now." The lady then said "Go to hell."

Yeah, I eventually went back through the episode and rewatched that part a bit obsessively to try to translate it. And then found the translation on the website. Sorry for a wildly inaccurate initial attempt, and glad to know you got the right one from somebody!
