Five Times Peter Dreamt About Spielberg Movies
one. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
Nathan walked into his room smirking with delight. “How you feelin’ faker?” he sneered as Peter pulled his arm.
“I’m feelin’ fine,” Peter exclaimed. “I have something to show you!” Nathan rolled his eyes. “But you have to promise not to tell, swear, as my only brother only our lives!”
“Ok,” Nathan responded looking the other way.
“I’m serious!”
“Ok, don’t get so heavy, Elliot. I swear.”
Peter smiled and stood in the centre of the room. “I have absolute power.” Nathan gazed at Peter, annoyance visibly written on his features.
“You have absolute power?” Nathan repeated.
“Uh huh. Say it. I have --” Nathan closed his eyes and smirked.
“You have absolute power!” He shouted, when he opened his eyes, Peter showed him he did and promptly exploded taking his brother with him.
two. Raiders of the Lost Ark
Peter walked with the blonde in the cheerleading outfit through the bazaar. That was when he saw a man stalking them from around the corner. He could feel his gaze upon the girl and his face smirk beneath his hat and trench coat. Peter pushed the fedora resting on his head up to look at him, only to see that he was gone and so was the girl. That was when he heard her scream. Peter ran down the maze of winding stone and plaster buildings; searching, panicking.
“Indiana Jones!” yelled a basket hoping down an alley. The man in the hat and coat holding it seemed to be faster than humanly possible as Peter wondered. “Indiana Jones! Help me! Jones!”
“Marion!” Peter called out as he came to the end of the maze. He saw the man loading the basket into a truck and driving off. Peter took a pistol out his pocket and shot at the man, missing him completely and hitting the truck’s tyre instead. As it spun out of control, Peter felt his stomach drop; it exploded. “No…” he whispered. “Marion.” He closed his eyes and grabbed his head. He couldn’t save her.
three. Hook
Peter sat in the bed room playing with shadow puppets as his father once again shouted on his cell phone. He made the shape bigger and bigger until finally it consumed the older man. “Boom!” Peter exclaimed happily.
“Would you shut up!” His father snapped. Peter shrunk back against the bed falling into Nathan who held him close. “I’m on a very important call here and I can’t take this! Moira, get them out of here would ya!” His Mother stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Peter, they’re just playing.”
“Stop acting like such a child!” He said pointing at Peter. Peter swallowed before saying.
“But I am a child,” he said quietly.
“Grow up!” he growled before turning back to his cell phone. Peter looked up at Nathan hovering over him who stared straight ahead, expression unreadable.
Then Hook came to Peter’s window and Peter and Nathan ran away to Neverland.
four. The Terminal
Everyday Peter went to see Officer Bishop and everyday she told him no. He needed to escape the airport, but he couldn’t leave. Out in the world, his family was in danger. Every night Peter cried to him and every night he listened. When Adam asked Peter to do something for him, Peter had to comply.
“I want you to help me tame the stallion,” he said to Peter smiling. So Peter agreed and when he went to see Officer Bishop every day, he’d ask her questions.
“What do you like?” Peter asked her. She smiled him flirtatiously.
“I like lots of things Mr Nivorski,” she responded.
“What…you do for…uh, fun?” Peter asked the next day. She shrugged and said,
“Conventions mostly.” When Peter told Adam this fact he grew excited.
“She’s a trekkie!” He exclaimed smiling at Peter. He then grew serious. “Now Victor, there’s one last thing I need you to do for me.” Peter moved closer to Adam and listened. “I need you to leave.” Peter looked up at him confused. “And take me with you.”
“What?”
“You can walk through those doors. Why don’t you? It’s not that hard. It’s one step. You can do it.” He smirked and Peter stepped away.
“I can’t.”
“Sure ya can. C’mon, Victor. You can do it.” Peter swallowed hard and saw the doors to New York City staring at him, begging him to leave, so he did.
five. War of the Worlds
“You keep your eyes only on me, you understand? Don't look down. Don't look around me. I'm taking you to the car and you're gonna want to look around but you're not going to, are you?” She shook her head and Nathan smiled. Nathan took Claire in his arms as Peter ran along side him to the car staring at the wreckage. The tripods came and destroyed everything; Peter felt helpless. He wanted to do something to help. He needed to do something to help. He couldn’t just keep running towards Boston.
Finally when they came across the army and the battle upon the hill, Peter saw his chance to do something. A chance to finally be part of something and save the world; to be a hero. He ran up the hill, but before he could, he was tackled by Nathan. “Let me go!” Peter cried, struggling against the weight of Nathan’s body.
“No! What the hell do you’re think you’re doing, Robbie!” he screamed.
“I need to do this!”
“No! We need to stay together! Rachel needs you!” He paused and stared at Peter with concern and hope. “I need you.” Peter swallowed and looked into Nathan’s eyes.
“You need to let me go.”
“No.”
“Yes, you need to let me go. I have to do this.” Peter and Nathan connected and his brother’s grasp weakened. Peter smiled slightly and then turned his attention towards the battle, running into the fire head first.
Notes: Some of the quotes from the films are changed just a little, but you get the idea right? Course ya do. Hope you enjoyed.
