Quinrose Game Updates

Aug 26, 2011 15:25

So, I seen 逢魔時~怪談ロマンス~ go up on Quinrose's site a while ago and basically ignored it because a) it is not Toybox or Peter Pan b) the character designs / setting don't do much for me thus far and c) I'd much rather squee over the voice samples going up for Peter Pan. (Squee! Iku-chan-sensei is John?! Whee ( Read more... )

yeah i noticed that, i don't understand what they are thinking. ^^; i can't even imagine a guy wanting to play nursery rhyme games on his psp??

they are introducing another otome game too, which actually looks pretty interesting http://quinrose.com/game/ouma/top.html, but after mother goose i don't really trust their quality anymore so i'm probably just gonna get omochabako and move away from QR games. i'm even starting to doubt on the quality of omochabako, but i really loved the alice series so i'm hoping for a good fandisk. ;w;

It's not just the male aspect that throws me for the Blue Label one either. It's the fact that they totally ditch their signature style to make the characters look like any generic moe loli style. I mean, what the hell? It might... miiiight have been forgivable if they were going to stay true to the original and do maybe a slice of life, you pick one of the male characters --> Erica sorta deal. Or, at the very least, they could have at least kept true to their original art style. (Imagine being a male character and trying to romance someone like Vivaldi. XD) It could work in theory.

But this is just so blatantly, disgustingly commercial. Absolutely no loyalty to their fanbase. And, to add insult to injury, they already have a release date for it.

It sorta feels like they're just stringing us along with promises of Toybox in order to get sales on other things now. (And, yeah, I'm starting to get nervous about the quality of Toybox too now. Especially since they're saying that it's going to be PSP rather than PC... =.=0)

yeah the art throws me off too, i agree the art is very commercial, and sadly i think that is precisely what quinrose is trying to do :/

they really aren't the same company anymore that brought us the original alice series

Toybox isn't ever coming out, is it? :\ Well, meh, I guess I'll move on. This is disappointing, but this is also expected. They've already pushed PC-users to the side with their PSP only thing, which might be understandable but still disappointing.

Even if Toybox comes out I don't think I'll get it.

At this point, it's sorta shady. But, I still do want Peter Pan. I have a long running love affair with Peter Pan and it's various incarnations add in Akira Ishida and it was a done deal. And I want Toybox enough that I'll get it if it ever bothers to come out. But I'm not stupid enough to pay for the half-assed, "deluxe editions"... I'd rather save the money.

Well, if nothing else, maybe the unthinkable will happen and all the lolis in Blue Label will turn out to be interesting characters with interesting stories...or maybe Quinrose will improve on the gameplay from the original Mother Goose...or maybe this will secretly be the story of how kiddie!Vincent had a harem of lolis before he changed his name, dyed his hair and went to university, I don't know. D:

Well, on happier news I actually like the look of that Ouma game. I'm a complete sucker for 'high school with monsters and hot guys' type stories. Plus, semi-headless Dullahan girl! Obviously not as cool as Celty, but still!

About the Peter Pan voies samples, I keep thinking that Hook's voice would sound better on Smee, and vice versa. And it surprised me that Wendy was the adopted older sister until I remembered that, duh, that's what it was in the original story anyway.

(By Iku-sensei, do you mean from Starry Sky? Because when I listened to John, all I could think of was the creepy stepfather from the Yandere Heaven drama CDs D:D:D

Loli-harem, che... As much as I hope that they improved the gameplay and stuff, not even gonna waste my money. >.>

I could be lured towards the Ouma game if they give us some awesome CG peaks - as you said, nearly headless girl has me curious. But, I'm not quite as enchanted with the high school element. I mean, this is Quinrose... surely they could have dug out some awesome allusion/setting for us? I'll wait until they give us more to go off of.

Ditto. The Hook and Scissors guy seemed like they should have been switched. Have to see more of them in action to get used to it.

Yes, I meant Iku from Starry Sky. It's the same voice actor. (He also does Toujou Ayumu from Gintama, but I'm still sorta on a SS After Autumn high so that's where my brain jumped first. XD) Haven't heard Yandere Heaven... hmm that voice being creepy yandere-ish... intriguing...
