Sucks to be Gin on Christmas.

I've only seen a couple of episodes of this series so I can't comment too deeply. It fits what I know though. I really have to watch more of this. It was good from the little bit that I saw.

Ohh, I definitely recommend it if you haven't seen more than a handful of episodes. Gintama is such an awesome series. It goes from horribly cracktastic to wonderfully dramatic to downright epic without hardly skipping a beat. The characters just sorta grow on you after awhile. And it actually follows the manga pretty closely when it comes down to it, so if you're having trouble finding episodes that's an easy alternative. (The only downside is you miss out on some of Tomokazu Sugita's awesome voice acting if you go manual.) But, yes, a very fun series. I'd put it up there with Slayers and One Piece as my longest running fandom loves.

The only thing that has kept me from committing to watching Gintama all the way through is the intimidating number of episodes I'd have to catch up on. Surprisingly my mom roped me into watching the episodes I did see. Hmm, maybe I should get her some of the Gintama DVDs for Christmas. I know she wanted them. Then I could see more too. Can't miss Tomokazu Sugita.
