I went in sort of expecting *erhem* minimal plot and all smut. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was plot! And a fairly elaborate one at that - mafia, secret identities, complexities of the opera house, unexpected yanderes... And you had to go through all the characters before the Phantom was unlocked so it was sorta fun to see all the pieces fall in place finally.
My only big complaints were the music, other than the Phantom's awesome creepy background pieces it was pretty unremarkable. And no singing. In a game about Opera. *rolls eyes* Would have at least expected some generic 'singing' track to help imply singing. And most of the 'true end' type routes wound up being too sappy, sweet for me. I actually liked the some of the deviation routes better... Including one where Christine died *shrug* but it seemed like they put more thought into some of the secondary paths.
