Perhaps for the sole reason that they are both such sweethearts and their story (my story, whatever) is so the most adorable thing ever. (And depressing, but adorable.) Or maybe it's just the fact that Atsushi Sakurai to me is THE sex god, the rock legend, and a powerhouse of creative force and charisma. Seeing him fangirl over a dude (who offers a true match, btw) is just so... nomm.
