Hi, let's talk about fae politics
Tans and I are spitballing a bubble that's basically set in ~*~nebulous fairy forest~*~ and centers around the dying Fae Queene. She has many children and there's no law of primogeniture, so the kids are all striving for the throne.

2 KNOWN SECRETS: For each secret you can have 1 or 2 other characters know. Other people will respond to your comment and be like "I want my character to know this secret!". Talk about it a little to make sure both players understand what all is known.
1 UNKNOWN SECRET: Which will not translate into shared IC knowledge until it is revealed!!! MAKE IT JUICY.

2 Known Secrets:
FIRST: he has killed at least two high nobles for getting in the way of his plans or... endangering... something. In fact it's not really clear why he did it (OOC OOC: it's because they figured out his Unknown Secret.) But he did do it with his own hands.
SECOND: He can't be away from his home for more than one full day and night. If by some chance it occurs, his Unknown Secret will make itself known in very destructive ways. The person who knows this secret will recognize the limitation but, as with the first, won't know why.
1 Unknown Secret: lol guess who's a necromancer in a kingdom where necromancy is explicitly forbidden, culturally disgusting, and very dangerous? Not to mention that since he's a priest and shit, it's kind of a desecration on a number of other levels. It would be VERY BAD if this were generally known. 2 Known Secrets:
Vald's cursed by a demon-- which is more or less a constant battle he's in which is only kept in check by the decorative cuffs around his wrists. Said demon can take over when he's asleep or if the cuffs are damaged/taken off him. So it needs to be....'tamed' rather frequently. (1 possibly ...2?)
Illegitimate heir-- but some believe he'll be either a good king...or maybe just one easy to control? Oh yeah, that's where the demon part comes from. :>(1 person)
1 Unknown Secret:-- Vald can't tell a lie Though this is a rather recent development which cropped up from an unfortunate spill into a cursed pond. He's always been known to be pretty honest around court, maybe even a little gullible on top of that but this takes it to new heights and makes it significantly more tricky to navigate court life. While he can't *tell* a lie, he can keep silent instead of saying anything but...Vald's kinda mouthy. :T

2 Known Secrets:
1.) One of the "just" sons once killed a group of royal guards and their captain for making sport of a human female. His noble father covered up the deed for him but has made clear to Riku his disgust and anger over the fact that he would risk their chance at the throne for a mortal.
2.) He's cripplingly terrified of absolute darkness. His name is a variant of "bright" or "brilliant" and his aspects and magical abilities are all variations of light and the sun. Total sensory deprivation will render him helpless.
1 Unknown Secret:His particular magical abilities (rare for any bloodline) come with a caveat: the individual in question may be born incapable of producing other offspring. GUESS WHO CAN GET IT UP but can't have kids; knowledge of this would most certainly disqualify him immediately, but only Riku and a great-great-grandmother familiar with the defect ( ... )

Anyway until we see how gameplay shakes out I'm thinking it's probably best to start out with just one "competitor" character, but as for non-competitors? Don't think it really matters.
