It was a really lovely day at Quentão, the sun was shining bright and the air was warm and calm. It was the perfect cusp between spring and summer, and Paris could think of no better day. On the balcony of his rooms, he felt the weight of a special something in his pocket and his heartbeat quickened with anticipation ( Read more... )

To say that Nausy was excited about the trip would be an understatement. She'd always loved to travel, and even after all the places she'd been through in Aquavitae, there was still so much that she wanted to see. Making things even better was the fact that she was going to a beautiful seaside town with the man who was currently making her feel like a teenager again.

She giggled at that thought. Sure, she still felt the pangs of homesickness, but her new family in Quentão had made things so much better. Paris, most especially.

"Don't give your Aunt Shiraz any trouble, okay, sweetie?" she said to Marc as she double-checked her luggage, then moved over to give him a hug and a kiss on the forehead. "Mama will be back soon. I'll bring back something nice for you, so be a good boy."

Paris came into the room not long after, Shiraz trailing behind him (dressed, thankfully). Her keen ears caught Nausy's words and she sauntered over to where Marc was sitting. "Nyaa~ he's always a good boy. Isn't that right," she nuzzled Marc's cheek.

Paris was so glad that Shiraz had warmed up to the boy so much. He knew Marc would be absolutely spoiled while they were gone. And Cielo was here as well.

"All packed up?" he said.

Nausy nodded. "Yes, all ready." She took a moment to give Shiraz a parting hug; it really was amazing how much closer they'd become, despite having a shaky and hostile start. It was an unusual friendship, but a strong one. "I can never thank you enough, for this and everything else."

Marc was all too happy to join the hug.

"Enjoy yourself, nyaa~ and have a wonderful time." Shiraz said kindly, hugging her back. She wished she could be there to see Nausy's reaction, but she knew it would be special and memorable. She hoped with all her heart that Nausy would accept the proposal that only she and Paris knew was coming.

"Nyaa~ we'll have lots of fun, Marc and I!"

It took a while, but Nausy finally managed to buy presents for everyone - and, not surprisingly, even for some random people she'd befriended during their little shopping spree. She'd given a group of kids a handful of toys and they'd thanked her by coming up with a random song in her honor (although they'd seemed to be chanting) and dancing around her. Ever so enthusiastic and lively, she'd ended up dancing along, and it didn't take long for them to invent something they called "the Nausicaa move."

As it was still a while before dinner, she then quietly excused herself to take a nap. She wasn't exactly tired, but they'd been traveling and shopping, and they were going dancing later in the evening. Dinner she could live without, but she wasn't about to miss out on the dancing.

"Mmmm," she murmured contentedly as she lay down and closed her eyes. A small smile brightened her face as she imagined herself dancing by the shore around a campfire - in Paris' arms.

With Nausy upstairs, Paris slipped out onto one of the balconies, pulling a beautiful jewel from his pocket and staring at it intensely in the afternoon sunlight. If everything went well, he wanted to give it to Nausy this evening, after dinner. He didn't have the plan exactly, but he hoped the perfect moment would present itself. She had looked so happy and content today that his worrisome doubts from earlier had faded.

It was probably a little too early for Nausy to come down for dinner, but she had. She wasn't sure if she was correctly dressed for the occasion, but if her date didn't like her outfit then she'd simply change. She figured that since they were by the beach, she'd go for light and cutesy instead of formal and elaborate. She'd suppressed a giggle as she stared into her reflection earlier, feeling even more like a teenager again.

Paris broke into a smile as she came downstairs. He'd also changed into a loose white shirt that opened wide at the collar, very summery looking and light. It was almost like they'd been in tune, and now matched.

"You'll have every eye on you, do you know that?"

"Including yours, I hope?" Nausy asked with a giggle. They were wearing matching outfits - sort of- and it was cute on so many levels, especially since they hadn't planned it. And the redhead was a sucker for cute. Of course, there was also the fact that, even though they'd been together for quite sometime, she'd still flirt with Paris as if they'd only recently been acquainted.
