Such a gripping narrative! I had planned to just look over the beginning and read it tomorrow... But that didn't happen. -grin-

Ohmygoodness, I am so grateful for this story. I saw it when I first got up this morning, and I was squeeing like mad. It was perfect, before even having read it! Thank you. Thank you so much.

I adore the entire premise of the story. It's a fascinating take on the reason behind Elizabeth's denial of men.

Sir Thomas was right about one thing - I am destined for greatness. I think of what he could have stolen from me, and I feel my once soft heart harden.

I touch the window pane and shudder at its iciness. Cold will be my heart with only enough warmth for England. Never a man.

Guh. *dies* The last lines are perfect perfect perfect. The whole idea behind the story makes so much sense - her careful affection for Sir Thomas, his ambition, her frustration. And the historical facts were perfect, as well! And it's Elizabeth! I cannot express how delighted I am with this story.

(And *sigh* if only I could have written something like this for my swap story. Thank you again.)

Um, oh my gosh. This is amazing! I must admit I didn't even recognise that it was that Elizabeth until they mentioned her sister Mary, but then the whole story took on a whole new twist, and it was like a lightbulb going off ...

And I agree with Delaney -- the last lines are so perfect! I really enjoyed reading this -- and I loved how subtly Elizabeth's feelings for Sir Thomas altered. It seemed so natural ...

Just wow. Well done, mystery writer!

This story was such an intriguing read! What I found the most captivating was Elizabeth's emotional journey. I mean, really. To watch all her thoughts in respect to him, in respect to Kat, the worry over Sir Tyrwitt's visit was all very wrenching. As I said before, I was not planning to read the whole story that night, just look over it, and come back to it the next morning when I wasn't so tired, but the story was gripping, and I couldn't 'put it down ( ... )
