New England

God I love the seasons in this part of the country. Typically I am not a summer person, heat/humidity and all that, but the colors you get on a clear day can rival any fall. Of course fall is not slouch in the beauty department (and wins hands down on the weather front). I thought I would post a few photographs I took while meandering through ( Read more... )

OOOOOOHHHHH!!!!! You took a cemetery picture!!! I love cemeteries. I spent lots of time walking around lovely old cemeteries while doing my research.

The other pictures are all lovely as well. Where exactly is "Rogers?"

I live over in Danbury, CT. I'm looking forward to the fall colors this year. Yankee Magazine said that Kent, CT is the best place for fall color this year. That's right up the road from me and I can't wait to get out there with a camera.

I have a really strange obsession with old cemeteries, which this area has an abundance of. They are just so beautiful and peaceful. I could spend hours walking around looking at the old tombstones. Perhaps it's because everywhere else in the country I've lived, the cemeteries have such a different feel. They lack the history that gives New England so much of it's character, and feel too manicured.
Rogers is in northeast CT in between Killingly and Putnam. Middle of nowhere basically, but it's conveniently located halfway between Uconn and Providence which works while I'm finishing my Dissertation. Plus it's Pretty. There's a peanut farm here.

I Know! I always feel weird telling people and almost didn't post that pic.

I suppose I could do the polygamy thing as long as my husband doesn't mind ;)

I'm working towards my PhD in behavioral neuroscience. I study the brain. It's fun and sciency so I love it.

What about you, what type of research brings you to a cemetery?
