Oscar Fun Time

I'm slightly less enthusiastic about the Oscars each subsequent year, but this year is different. The injection of the queer into the proceedings, perhaps by the Gay Mafia, as postulated by rollerboogieboy makes this year one to watch. Which means that I somehow have to take in several films that I actually want to see, have not seen, and now have been ( Read more... )

well her previews are better than any of the other actresses, plus reese witherspoon couldnt act her way out of a paper bag, unless it was pink and titled legally blond

Crash is one of the best movies i have ever seen. it is one of those movies that reminds you of art's amazing potential and power in society.

i'm really excited about the picture nominees this year. 4/5 i have seen and thought were amazing (i don't remember ever liking that many of them) and the 5th i have heard nothing but good things about (Munich).

Yeah I would like to see all of them. I am a pussy and slightly afeared to see Munich because I heard it's surprisingly gorey!

I was actually kind of hoping the Constant Gardner would make it into the best movie category, even though ultimately I want Brokeback to win. And I want to be invited to the after-party where Jake and Heath will then make out with me.

I have a feeling Capote should win, but that BBM *will* win- and I would be glad if it did, too. I liked it a lot- not as much as just the story itself, but it was a very important film and I think it's important that wins, to make a statement to the USofA. But then again...will the convservative feelings in this country be able to sway the vote away from all things gay? I'm not sure how it REALLy works behind the scenes.

I need to see Capote in order to really decide, but yah, BBM is such a well-made film I think, and really has been culturally relevant, if only for the media push/controversy.
