Hearing the elevator rise he whispered, "Thank God," to himself before putting the book down. He knew she was going the UCSC today, the only reason they hadn't gone together was because he had gone earlier in the week, when Mia was to exhausted to leave their bed.
Standing and stretching he walked over to the doorway when he heard her call out to him, "I'm in the living room. When I have the crazy idea to sign up for six courses to make life easier when the baby comes remind me that I lose the ability to have a life."

"I promise the next time you feel like taking too many classes, I'll stop you. Plus don't forget you've got basketball and you know how busy you get with practice." She tilted her head to the side as she shifted the bag to her other arm.

"Anyway, how was your day? How'd sign up go? Did you get everything you need?"

"Registration went okay, I got the classes I needed," She hesitated and held up the bag. "So I was waiting in line at the bookstore to ask the lady at check-out a question and while I was standing there I saw the most ridiculous thing...But I sort of couldn't resist the urge to buy it," She said while biting her bottom lip.
