Free Will and Wanton Glitter

1. I ran eight miles on a treadmill yesterday, while wearing my sling. It turns out that as long as I keep my arm supported, it's pretty fine, but if I let it jangle about too much, I get the occasional owie. But I don't think a dislocated shoulder should keep me from running a marathon. I'm either very committed or stupidly stubborn ( Read more... )

I vote stubbornly stupid. Then again, I'd do the same thing for a hockey game. You might want to tape it to your body instead of relying on the sling, but the orthoped will certainly be better for that kind of advice than I am :D

It changed the way I watched television, and, thus, it changed my life

Me too. I think it was the first show that I watched, and taped, and watched and watched. Which led me to the internet, which led me to forums, to friends, and to more tv shows. Buffy was definitely my first fandom, and it's always got that good spot in my heart.

Dude, I already had an OCD moment when someone donated $18.20. I asked a friend to toss in an extra eighty cents to keep me from going nuts.

When was "Buffy appreciation day"? It's funny, I did a long post about the show in another forum. I think my first show was "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date," which is ironic, as it's my least favorite ep from that season. The show changed the way I watched TV as well.

Hope your shoulder gets better soon. And I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm kind of standing in awe (well sitting if we need to be technical) at the idea of you running a marathon with a separated shoulder. Yikes! There will be bumping and well, you know, it's going to be a little painful. I admire your dedication but . . .

As for the "s" word - doctors always love it. It's kind of a natural inclination. But usually, when it comes to shoulders, it is helpful. At least in the cases and med recs I see.

I have no idea what 8 is but I immediately started looking around places you post to see if I could figure it out. Which of course I can't. How mysterious of you. Hee!

Eh, it's really not that bad. I mean, the shoulder's back in, after all.
