Kid Loki! I never expected to love him as much as I did during this arc. He tried SO HARD to do what he thought was right, even if he did it in his own inimitable Loki way. And then that ending! SO HEARTBREAKING. And, I mean, I get that it kind of had to end that way, but it made me SO SAD for him.

I also really liked how a lot of the story was about stories and storytelling and how we shape our own narratives and then have to live up (or down) to them, and what that means.

It really was like a Sandman story in the Marvelverse, I thought.

"But I was HELPING!" he says at the end, which pretty much sums it up.

I knoooooooow. Have you read Young Avengers? I've pre-ordered the first trade, and I've heard good things. I've also got Hawkeye coming today!

YES! And all the stuff about lies and believing and how there are some lies-and stories are just lies, after all-that you have to believe because the world doesn't make sense otherwise.

And, like Sandman, I think it will be even better on a re-read now that I see the whole arc of the story and can pick up on all the foreshadowing and thematic connections.

Yeah, I'm behind now, but I've been enjoying Young Avengers, despite the sad lack of ELI BRADLEY.
