From Boisterous Budapest to Beautiful Barcelona

Some astute readers may have noticed a few references to an impending trip to Europe, specifically Budapest and Barcelona. In two weeks, I will be on my way to Europe on the company dime. My boss and I are going over there for some Investigator's Meetings at which I will give a half-hour talk in each city. Also, there will be face time with people

Drug smuggling types, apparently, put baggies of drugs in jars of peanut butter to throw off the drug sniffing dogs. But the authorities know that. So I guess the dogs are training to sniff out peanut butter too. So pretty much, you can't bring peanut butter with you to Europe. It'll just get confiscated. Family warned me before I last visited, because they know I eat a lot of peanut butter and I guess American style peanut butter isn't really available there, bur you can't bring it with you.

Not that I expected you to bring pb on a business trip. Still, seemed worth the warning.

Peanut butter is available in speciality-American groceries stores, but it's reeeally expensive!
