As long as they sell one Temporlator a month, they should be fine!
Also, it's a non-profit. I'm sure they get real donations. The retail store is just a front, like the pirate store and all the other 826 establishments.
Oh, oh, yeah. The 826 stores are all writing workshops. The pirate store is at 826 Valencia, and Dave Eggers needed a retail front since the area was zoned for retail. All the other stores have different themes.

I did spend a lot of time at Golden Apple though. The whole Fantagraphics crew would make a weekely jaunt.
