Combat Waitress: The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina

This post is mostly to say that I ate my first flounder. It was flounder stuffed with crab meat, so I think I mostly tasted the crab meat, but the fish part tasted like...fish. It was my first time baking fish in the oven, and it did not prove to be disastrous.

I am also reminding everyone about The Great Winter Road Trip and the associated mix ( Read more... )

Fish baked in the oven is yummy! Have I recommended/have you bought TJ's flash-frozen wild salmon before? That's our main fish source, and we've recently started baking it in the oven with some salt and pepper and olive oil on top for about 8 mins at 350. I love how it gets sort of chewy at the edges.

I hope I never ever have to find out firsthand, but reconstructive breast surgery seems like such a not-great choice for most women, especially when there isn't much tissue left to work with. I keep reading about women who had implants of some sort and are very uncomfortable (physically/emotionally) with the results. If I'm ever in that situation, I think I would go with this kind of tattoo instead.

Ooh, interesting! I haven't tried it, mostly because fish is so expensive.

Damn, that's...something.

The beauty of the TJ's fish is that it's cheap! You can get two small fillets for less than $6. It's frozen, but after you defrost the packet in a bowl/sink of warm water you'd never know the difference.

So, is the post title just a non sequitur? Because I was totally expecting something about Haruhi in there.

The sleep thing might be the season. The sun sets by five these days, so a few hours after that your brain starts thinking it's sleepy time. I have a much harder time of late getting out of bed at 5pm on my graveyard shift schedule, too, and I suspect it's because it's dark out.

Yeah, I couldn't think of a good post title, and I'm reading Sigh. And then I thought, hey, this post is about as incoherent and lacking in cohesion (why is there no direct antonym for cohesive??) as Haruhi's movie, so it works.

Heh.

Incohesive should totally be a word. I hereby declare that it is.
