My Day of New Fish

Aug 10, 2009 02:39

  • searching for a place to satisfy Janie's craving for eggs
  • getting to Frescro right as they closed at one and passing on the fancy-schmancy Petit Robert Bistro
  • passing an awesomely pouty little girl in a yelling standoff with her dad
  • passing ( Read more... )

ggmm, it's a small world, tv, lists are less time-intensive, personal, i'm a moron, my year(s) of (new) meats, food, the middleman, javier grillo-marxuach, movies, pesceducation, lj friends

driving to Newport, a real city, since [info]smrou excitedly recommended the famous Cabot's
Newton, not Newport.

determining that Javi is quite the entertaining showrunner and one whose next show I will definitely be checking out
Indeed. Those Javi-casts were so much fun.

getting to the airport early for my delayed flight...which has become undelayed, making me on time
Oh good!

...finding my car dead because I left the headlights on for a week
Oh bad.

I did actually mention Newport while we were driving through Newton (on the topic of mansions). Just to confuse you!

Cabot's is good stuff. I had an amazing orange cream frappe there (not milkshake, crazy New England) one sticky hot summer night last summer.

It seemed a little bit wrong to go to Cabot's and not get ice cream (though I did emphasize that they're best known for their ice cream, particularly sundaes, and I think all the sundaes we saw at tables around us confirmed that for Janice and Sunil), but we really wanted to hit Abbott's Frozen Custard in my town. And I'm glad we did because I've had Cabot's any number of times and it was my first ever experience with frozen custard.

And orange cream frappe? That sounds goooooooood.
