Save the Last Dance 2: Cruise Control

Jul 07, 2009 22:13

Last week, I had issues with flies in my apartment, and on Tuesday, after killing over three dozen flies, I was not in the mood to cook dinner, so I took advantage of Rubio's Fish Taco Tuesdays. And then I took advantage of the Barnes and Noble to finish reading PowersI sat in one of the chairs by the graphic novel section. To my right, someone had ( Read more... )

No.

...but really that's kind of a good thing, or else everyone you met on the street would be a romantic chance encounter from somewhere in the past and there'd be a constant orgy of unresolved sexual tension and oh my god the chaos!!!

Aw. I wish things were more like the movies.

(Also, I like the glimpse of your 5-years-ago writing style!)

Of course you do! Because you're adorable. How does it differ, do you think?

Hmmmm.... parts are very similar (the way you turn a phrase, the way you use detail) but I think now your (LJ-entry, at least) writing is more polished? more direct? I don't know what the word is. But idk, what do I know about writing?

Sometimes vacation friends are better left to vacations. Summer of 2003 I went to Cabo San Lucas with qt_ninja and met this guy Mike. We had a great time hanging out for the next two nights and turned out he lived in San Leandro. And he actually called and wanted to hang out. So I invited him along to see this band I knew play in Berkeley and it was just... well awkward and weird and pretty much ruined the nice time we'd had in Mexico.

Aw, that's too bad.

Sometimes vacation friends can be cool, though! It's hard to tell.

It is for sure.

My grandmother and her best friend met on vacation like 50 years ago. So it's true, you never know.

She had no memory of me at all.

It's like the boy I had an insane unrequited crush on in Gr. 11. He had been in my baking class and we'd partnered up a few times, even had a flour fight. The next semester we sat together and tried to keep each other awake. I met him a couple of years out of high school and he couldn't remember me. Made me glad I had gotten over him all those years ago.

But that memory that you have of May and the cruise, that's golden. Look at you go and with an older woman! Woot!

(I like that we apparently seem to be playing comment tag. Must go find another post to leave a comment on.) :OP
