Regarding kids wanting to be garbage truck drivers, have you ever read Someday, Angeline and Dogs Don't Tell Jokes, by Louis Sachar? Pivotal pieces of my own childhood, there.

And the first time I met internet friends, I was in Prague. The second was in Canada.

Re #24, when I was still moving around a lot I made it a point to get library cards everywhere I went. I don't carry them in my wallet, but I still have them all.
