I understand that Fields = Fields, but where does the Alpine come in?

Alpine is a fairly rural part of San Jose County. Therefore, "go to Alpine, find the Fields."

Did Cameron kill Roger? If so, how did either Lauren or her mom call him? If not, how did he die?

Either:
Yes, but Mom (it was Mom who called him, there is no doubt) didn't know that, and she called and spoke to "Roger" (the T-888 using voice manipulation) and told him where they were before Lauren twigged; or

No, but they got away, and the T-888 (figuring correctly that it could take advantage of Mom's affair) killed him and waited for Mom to call.

And the dad?

Probably killed by the T-888 when he went after with lamp and curtain rod.

What the hell was up with Derek and Jesse in the future? Had they even met before then?

No; as explained by others, this was their meet cute.

Did Derek tell Lauren she would grow up to be a doctor?Probably not. Not necessary; Lauren was already doing field first aid, and now she has a baby to take care of. After Judgment Day, she'll ( ... )

Ooooooooooooh. I keep forgetting about that shit.

Thanks for all the answers, smartypants.

Also, the medallion is for St. Jude, Patron Saint of the Lost, and Lauren isn't lost -- she's taking on a decisive role as her sister's protector, as Derek took on a role as Kyle's -- as well as shedding a weakness (it was a target). Alternatively & also, she's leaving it with her mother, who is lost (dead).

We liked Lauren, however. She was very accepting of cyborgs, and she generally cracked us up. And she was cute, in that androgynous Jonathan Taylor Thomas way.

Ha! She totally was sort of Jonathan Taylor Thomas-y, wasn't she? What I found most interesting about Lauren was that she doesn't seem to age a day from the present to the future and also that she seems not the slightest bit upset when her mom dies. WTF, girl? I know you're all accepting of the robots and caring for newborn baby sister, but YOUR MOM JUST DIED and YOUR DAD DIED not long before that!

I think it's hard to tell how old she is in the future because you only get a glimpse of her face through the hazmat suit. I don't think we're supposed to assume she hasn't aged.

And, yeah, she didn't seem too broken up about all the deaths, did she? Maybe the trauma comes later.

Everything about the DeLorean was funny. Especially the sheik attempting to get away in it.

OMG yes. Hearing that engine hesitating as he tried to get away at speeds above 22 MPH was too fun. :D

Rudy, Lila, Miguel-they all end up on the table, though. I think this show does need a new plotline, eh?

I agree, although I can forgive them for this one because I feel like they've approached it now from three slightly different angles: family, lover, friend. It's a nice triumvirate of Dexter wanting to make connections on these three levels and not being able to. I become more and more convinced this is a show about alienation. Heh. The only thing you could do next would be co-worker, and that kind of happened with Doakes, so I think they'll do something different next season.

I don't understand why the actual results were on that report.

I thought Dexter hadn't decided what to do when we faded away, and the report was the reveal of which way he'd decided to go. He seemed to be leaning towards hiding it, but I thought he still might tell her. And he did! omg!
