I'm still a bit meh on Vampire Weekend. I just don't get it yet, but I'm trying. I actually listed to both of their SNL songs and didn't FF, just so I could try to be cool. Eh, maybe they'll still grow on me. I'm often slow that way.

I didn't get it at first either, but both those songs were stuck in my head all weekend. They're damn catchy.

Yeah, I guess they are kinda catchy, in an odd way. It's definitely a different sound.

That Staircase of Mystery sounds interesting. I can't really picture what it was doing really, but, it seems nifty.

But then they also started chanting "Yo!" for no apparent reason, and it was odd.

This made me laugh really hard. I can just picture it. I'm not much for experimental music like that. I like some weird stuff, man.

Like I like stuff with '70s and '80s influences but not the actual music from those decades.

But there's some really great stuff from those decades! Dude.

It wasn't doing anything. But if you kicked it or picked it up and tilted it or turned it around, you would hear a sound. But coming from a room, not the suitcase itself.

This made me laugh really hard. I can just picture it.
It went from person to person, with one person going, "Yo!" And another person saying, "Yo!" And then someone following with a "Yooooooo!" It was strange.

But there's some really great stuff from those decades! Dude.
Some! I do like some of it! Just not as a rule.

Fucking hell, Vampire Weekend is everywhere.
Yes. Yes they are. I believe they are what people call a "buzz band," which to me seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy. "We have determined that this one band should be talked about more than others, and to that end, we will talk about them more than others, and we will tell people that they are THE new band of the year, and they will believe us."

I guess I'll have to youtube it at last.
Here are "A-Punk" and "M79."

I am disappointed the show you saw didn't have any theramins!
Ha! I know a bona fide theremin player, though! He was even in a White Castle commercial playing a theremin!

I don't think screaming 13-year-olds would like Vampire Weekend, though.

(And I'm not claiming musical superiority; I'm simply denying musical inferiority.)

I don't like 'em, and I do deny musical inferiority.

You're not cool if you don't like Vampire Weekend!

I am so not cool. Vampire Weekend blows.
