It's trite and I end up thinking it every time I hear about a pet having to be euthanized, but it really does sound like the best way to leave this world and I'm sure that she would thank you for the kindness if she could. My wife, who has a better economy with words than I do stated on her livejournal: I can report, however, that she spent her last day doing what she loved most - hanging out with her family and stealing pizza from a small child.

It's a beautiful thing when a family can help their loved one go in peace and relative dignity. Y'all did right by Jasmine.

It makes me really happy that she stole that last pizza dinner. I know she enjoyed that.

It's never easy, even when you know it's the right thing.

I'm sorry she's gone, but she's glad to be free of the pain and discomfort, I think. I know it won't be much longer for little Molly, either, so this is in my thoughts a lot, these days.

An interesting thing I read about dog seizures: apparently, many dogs can expect to get one, maybe two, in their latter years for some reason. Most probably happen at night and no-one ever knows it. Molly had hers about a year ago, now, and so far she hasn't had another one that I'm aware of.

Very sorry to hear that, you and your family are in our thoughts. The planting sounds like a great idea. Be well,

Tim C.
