Crossover Fic: What Doesn't Kill You Ch. 1 (Stargate SG-1/Forgotten Realms/BtVS)

Apr 17, 2015 23:32

This is my first ever Real-Person Fic (other than the brief appearance of three real-life astronauts in ‘Sunnydale Passions’) and I’m posting it here primarily because it can’t be posted at ‘Twisting the Hellmouth’ or the Pit of Voles because their rules forbid RPF. It’s a ‘Tabula Avatar’ universe story, a sequel to The King of Elfland’s DaughterRead more... )

Lovely idea, but I can see why TTH wouldn't let you post it.

I do like the idea of Pink performing there - I suspect she'd get a BIG berserker following...

I did consider writing it with an OC singer, so that I could post it in the usual places, but I really wanted to have 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)' performed during the gig and decided to just accept the limitations and go for it with Kelly.

Can't believe I missed this. I need to check your LJ with more regularity.

I always thought the male actor in the "My life would suck without you" video looked a lot like Michael Shanks. So much so that I was convinced it was him the first time I saw the video.

Great job, Speaker.

Seems I must check your LiveJournal more often - it woud have been a shame to miss this one. I normally don't read real person fics - but I really like the Tabula Avatar universe (and eagerly await the conclusion of the main story ( ... )

Thank you! There are all sorts of technological changes going on; cellphone towers are being erected, for instance. I'm considering writing a side story about the introduction of trains, to be called 'Princess of the Night' (an old Heavy Metal song about a steam locomotive) in which Eilistraee hears the song, thinks it is about her at first, and then when she discovers what it's really about becomes very interested in steam trains and pushes for their introduction. Of course wagon hauliers, and coastal shipping operations, aren't very keen...

Out of curiosity, do you have any plans to introduce Stargate Atlantis or Stargate Universe characters at any point (either into this specific story or one of the others set in the same crossover universe)?

Some SGA characters may crop up - Rodney, of course, appeared in 'Debt of Blood' and he will show up again - but not in major roles. I've never watched SGU - I was still working nights when it screened and it wasn't on at a convenient time - and the easiest course for me to take is to say that it never happened in this universe.

I am working on a side-story that started as a request by a reader for me to write a story to be called 'Crisis of the Infinite Cierres', in which all several different versions of Cierre from my various stories met up. This has morphed into a re-write of 'Ripple Effect' where the SG-1s from several alternate realities turn up at the SGC - and most of them, of course, don't have a Cierre and are stunned to find how different things have gone in the TA-verse reality.
