Get with the times! These days it's not real unless wikipedia says it and you don't care about someone until you've added them to all your social networking accounts and post pictures of sparkling puppies on their home-pages.

Well... I've had an LJ since, I think, 2000ish. It's still by far my favorite and the security (read: visibility) mechanisms on it are by far the best. I think it only fails on one aspect: that it should have been easier to actually network.
My profile on Myspace pretty much sums up my attitude about it and faceboo. "See... now I've got a myspace account and you people can shut the hell up." (It also says "Who do I want to meet: space aliens, god and girls who will sleep with me." but that's a whole other topic.) I feel that the two networks distill the two things I have always hated about LJ culture: Myspace distills itself around the idea of fugly web-page design and Facebook institutionalizes the process of making vacuous utterences. (e.g. "superpokes" and quizzes). Though, I guess I've accepted that they've become ghettos for such behaviour. As for twitter... I'm still withholding judgment. With the exception of watching #neda and #iranelection, I have been completely underwhelmed by it. Maybe I'd like it better if I
( ... )
I have no sparkly puppies for you, but you can come over and motor boat me. We'll even make a wiki article about the process so that it can be real. =)
I love you and miss you (and you are on my friends list on all the social networking sites I bother with...)
I looked up "Motor Boating" on WP, but there wasn't anything there nearly depraved enough to have been written by you. I think someone veto'ed your reality!

I'll definitely put that down in my calendar.
Are you going to the party on the 3rd? I'm planning on heading that way.
