I think this is very sweet, although perhaps in a somewhat unconventional way. Spock's replies are very realistic, IMO - I find it likely that he would find other ways of making Jim feel better than lying to him.

This kind of reminds me of The Final Frontier, where Jim says he needs a shower, and Spock simply says "yes".

Thank you! I really appreciate the comment - slightly unconventional was what I was going for. And aww, the shower scene! It actually makes me think kindly of the Final Frontier.
