I don't think he was ever intentionally deceptive, though. This whole thing reeks of desperation rather than greed -- from all sides.

Thank you, I'm feeling like a masochist today and reading up all the angsty fics that popped up today (I have one too if you're also feeling like a masochist). This is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. The "ten days later" part, I think I'm gonna die now (in a bad way), picturing that happening.

Thank you. And I thought I was more or less over this, but then I woke up this morning to that ridiculous bid for Carrell that got turned down, and now I'm decidedly not okay any more, so I might take up your suggestion and wallow dramatically all day. If I think of this as a soap opera maybe it will hurt less.

GUH. I've told myself I don't want to read fics for now, not until the transfer saga is over, and I know for real what's transpired and I have gotten over it. This is painful. Painfulll.
